Red Sun is originally from the Netherlands and traditionally is the most famous shallot variety with red skin-colour. It is one of the best red shallots and very attractive thanks to its red tinged skin. Red Sun is medium-early and produces round shallots with strong, red/brown coloured skin. The variety can be grown on any soil type and is suitable for short-term storage. Shallots grow in a cluster of cloves, just like garlic. They have a strong and rich taste.Plant during Spring from Feb-April and harvest June-August.
