How can WEEE help?

We’re delighted to implement the WEEE Regulations to ensure your old appliances are disposed of safely and correctly. The prices on our website include a contribution to a Product Recycling Fund, which ensures that electronic equipment is collected and recycled in a responsible manner.

Information on take-back of WEEE and / or waste batteries:

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is taken back free of charge on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. Waste batteries including rechargeable batteries are taken back free of charge. You are not obliged to make any purchase when returning old batteries. Each local authority must also accept household WEEE and small batteries free of charge at its recycling facilities. All WEEE and waste batteries must be recycled and should not be placed in any of your household wheelie bins. Make sure you always recycle all your old electrical goods and batteries. There is a bin for small batteries in all of our branches.

How do I organise free takeback of my item?

Glanbia take back your WEEE on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis, free of charge either in-store or at the time of delivery. Waste portable batteries are also taken back on a one-for-zero basis in-store. You can also take the item to your local civic amenity. Waste batteries can also be recycled free of charge, we will take back waste batteries free of charge provided any waste batteries returned to us are of equivalent type sold by us. There is a bin for small batteries in your local Glanbia branch.

How do I recycle my item at a local civic amenity?

Each local civic amenity must accept household WEEE and waste batteries free of charge from members of the public. Please contact your local authority for details of your local civic amenity. Local Authorities cannot charge gate fees for WEEE or waste batteries.

At Glanbia we will ensure that your old product is disposed of correctly to reduce the potentially harmful effects caused on the environment and to conserve natural resources. Further information can be found on weeeireland.ie
