The ‘Red Baron’ onion is a mid-late maturing variety that produces firm, flattish-round dark red bulbs. Stronger flavour than most varieties. Its an excellent cropping red onion with good storage potential. How to plant: Prepare the planting area well in advance by incorporating some compost to improve the soil fertility and drainage. Avoid planting onions on freshly manured soil. Plant onion sets in areas with full sun and in rows of well drained soil. Plant the bulbs so that the tip of bulb is just protruding through the surface of the soil.
