Lectade Plus is described as an oral rehydration solution designed for calves dealing with scours (diarrhoea) or stomach upset. Key features include: 

-Usage for Scours or Stomach Upset: Lectade Plus is intended for use in calves that are experiencing scours or dealing with a stomach upset.

-Contents of Sachets A and B: The contents of sachets A and B are to be added to 2 litres (approximately 3.5 pints) of fresh water. This solution is prepared at a temperature of about 35°C.

-Feeding Protocol:

1. When scour symptoms are observed, immediately withdraw milk or milk replacer.

2. Offer 2 litres of Lectade Plus solution twice daily for two days (four feeds).

3. For the next four feeds, offer 1 litre of Lectade Plus solution added to 1 litre of milk or milk replacer.

4. Thereafter, resume normal feeding.

-Severe Scouring: If the scouring is established or severe, causing serious dehydration, the solution should be fed three or four times daily.

-Maximum Usage Period: Lectade Plus may be used on its own for a maximum of four days.

-Colostrum Feeding: It is emphasized to ensure that adequate colostrum is fed to all calves. Colostrum is the first milk produced by the mammary glands after calving and is crucial for the health and immunity of the newborn calf.

-Clean Feeding Utensils: The importance of keeping feeding utensils clean is highlighted, emphasizing hygiene during the feeding process.

-Discarding Unused Solution: Any medicated water that is not consumed within 24 hours should be discarded. This ensures the freshness and effectiveness of the rehydration solution.

-Zero Meat, Offal, and Milk Withdrawal: There is zero withdrawal period for meat, offal, and milk when using Lectade Plus. This information is crucial for ensuring the safety of animal products consumed by humans.
