Grasshopper is a highly accurate, GPS-enabled grass cover measurement system developed over three years by True North Technologies in collaboration with the Moorepark Grassland Research Station in Ireland. Designed for ease of use and millimetre-precise readings, Grasshopper allows users to control exactly when each measurement is taken, eliminating common errors found in other systems.
Grasshopper features built-in GPS, automatic paddock identification, and a user-friendly mobile app (Android & iOS) that displays live grass wedges, colourised grass cover maps, and detailed allocation tools for precise fence placement. After completing a grass walk, the system automatically uploads your data to GrasslandTools, with further integration to third-party platforms like PastureBase Ireland and AgriNet.
