Book a garden visit with our horticulturist Malachy. A one-hour home visit, expert advice and a clear follow-up plan for your garden.
Your garden is individual. The light is different, the soil is different, the conditions are different. That is why Malachy starts with the garden itself.
During your one-hour visit, Malachy will:
- Assess your space,
- Talk through your goals
- Give advice that suits your garden, your home and how you actually want to use the space.
After the visit, you will receive:
- A summary document covering everything discussed, including images, a plant list and practical next steps
- A Tirlán CountryLife Rewards Card which lets you earn and redeem points worth up to 5% back
- An introduction to your local horticulturist for free follow on gardening support in your nearest Tirlán CountryLife Garden Centre
How it works:
- Fill in the form below, and Malachy will get in touch. After a quick chat, if it feels like the right fit, we'll arrange a home visit.
- The cost of the home visit is €170.
- From there, you'll get clear, practical advice on what to do next — no pressure, just straightforward guidance to help you move your garden forward.
About Malachy
Malachy has spent a lifetime around plants. He studied horticulture at the National Botanic Gardens, won numerous horticultural prizes and represented Ireland in multinational horticultural competitions.
He has worked at the world-famous Mount Congreve Estate in Co. Waterford, where he specialised in propagating rare plants, and later as production manager in leading Irish nurseries. That experience gives him a deep understanding of plants, planting and what works best in real gardens.
A few things to know
Malachy is based in the South East, so this service is available within a set travel area.
This is a consultancy-only visit – Malachy won't carry out planting or installation work in your garden, but will guide you on exactly what to do and how to do it.
He also focuses on garden planting and finishing advice. Anything structural or engineering-based (like major construction, drainage or built features) is outside the scope of this service.
